INSPIRE Coalition

Please join our community-based coalition working to prevent substance use among youth by promoting education and positive family and community activity. Meets the 3rd Monday of each month (Sept.-Dec 2019) and 2nd Monday (Jan.-June) at 2:15pm at Cedarcrest Middle School.

Healthy Families

You can improve your parenting and family management skills by joining our FREE Parenting with Love and Logic evening classes, “Triple P” Positive Parenting Program, Promoting First Relationships Program, OR our Common Voices “YES” Parent Support Group.

Community Action

Join our community-based volunteer collaboration coalition working to network community resources for education, empowerment, & new opportunities for youth and families. Meets the 4th Tuesday of each month at 3pm at the Sentinel Family Resource Center at Spanaway High School

Bringing practical support for our youth and families to live healthy lives

We partner with MultiCare WIC and Greater Lakes Mental Health: Child & Family Therapy to provide family nutrition assistance and family counseling services.

Inspire! Substance Use Prevention

Communities are an effective force for bringing evidence-based programs to improve health for youth at risk. If you have a passion in inspiring youth and building healthy and safe community environments in the Bethel community, please consider joining the coalition. All community members are welcome!  We meet on the 3rd Monday (Sept.-Dec.) of each month 2:15-3:15pm at Cedarcrest Middle School. Please note starting in January 2020, we will meet on the 2nd Monday of each month (due to holidays). Chargers In Action

Prevention/Leadership Club at Cedarcrest Middle School meets every Wednesday after school. Topics discussed include, but not limited to: peer pressure, effective leadership skills, alcohol and substance use prevention, prosocial behaviors, emotional and mental wellbeing, bullying, and the effects of drugs and alcohol on the brain. Centers For Strong Families

Financial coaching and employment services for low-wage workers and those unemployed who are seeking help with employment, emergency food, utility assistance or a brighter future for their families. All Bethel Community Day

ABC Day is an annual event in October, where it brings the Bethel community together for a full-day filled with lots of fun activities for all ages to enjoy. The attendance for the event has grown over the past decade and we hope to continue this wonderful tradition in our community.

BOB the Bus

BOB is a bus with volunteer staff visiting neighborhoods around the Bethel School District offering access to WIC, DSHS services, food items, school supplies, and children’s games, crafts and other learning opportunities.

Our Story of Success in Serving Bethel School Disctrict’s Community

Bethel Community Services is a community-based volunteer collaboration of school, personnel, community citizens, members of the clergy, and service providers, that formed in 2001 to address the BECCA Truancy laws, and reconnect truant students and their families with their local schools and later expanded to include the Family Center providing social services.

BETHEL FAMILY CENTER

A community-based facility located on the Challenger High School campus

PROVISION

Provide daily services to at-risk youth and families from a network of 20 agencies.

NON-PROFIT

In 2003 BCS was granted 501(c)(3) non-profit status.  Contact us for info or to donate.

ASSISTANCE

Assist with basic food, clothes, Medicaid, emergency hygiene products & school supplies.

We Are Preventing Alcohol and Substance Use Among Our Youth

In 2011, the Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery launched the Community Prevention and Wellness Initiative (CPWI) to provide youth alcohol and substance use prevention services & strategies through local coalitions in high-need communities.
