Hidden In Plain Sight: May 1, 2019
The workshop attendees had an opportunity to walk through a mock teen bedroom to identity 85+ items hidden all over the room that may indicate risky or problem behaviors. This was an eye-opening experience for many of the attendees and we hope to continue to find ways to bring our community members together. The important thing is to have conversations with the youth and to create teachable moments at home and out in the community. Many attendees expressed that our community will benefit from having more workshops such as this one.
Thank you Jennifer Dorsett, HIPS facilitator and Linda Graves and Angela Boyer from the Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department for putting together informative presentations for the Bethel community!
If you have future workshop ideas or have any questions, please reach out to Erina Foote, Coalition Coordinator for Community Prevention and Wellness Initiative (CPWI) at foote.erina@gmail.com.
